Challenge - Learn the Apostle's Creed by heart!
I believe in God, the Father, Almighty, creator of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virigin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, forgiveness of sins, the resurrection body, and the life everlasting. Amen!

| Knowing what we believe / identifying false belief ... | ||
Comment: The early church soon came to realize that false belief and wrong teaching were disruptive of church life and jeapardized the salvation of people. the Apostle's Creed was one fo the earliest statements of faith that summed up what a person neeed to believe to be considered a part of the Christian community. It remains until today as a valid test of orthodox Christian faith. |
